Recovered Pages / Erasure

Using found imagery from black and white newspaper photographs, the ‘Page’ series purports to show damaged individual book pages, as if torn from their original binding and recovered from a lost archive. Each page is the same standard paperbook dimension suggesting a sense of narrative. Within the collaged photos there are varying levels of scale, depth and focus, allowing the work to hover between flatness and depth, foreground and background, content and emptiness and representation and abstraction. All works are collage on board, 30.5cm x 23cm, 2018-2020.
