Very happy to be showing at the Linden Hall Studio Winter Group Show, opening this week in Deal, on the Kent coast. The show runs until 31st January, with the Private View on Saturday 7th December. All works will be for sale.
I will be showing ‘Floor Show’, below, from a group of new collage works developed earlier this year. The works use remnants from previous works, retrieved from the studio floor, and elevated – both conceptually and literally – to a position of importance and elegance through considered spatial arrangements. Mounted onto fined Belgian linen, these newspaper offcuts have been trodden around the studio floor for weeks or months, the unconscious movement of my feet forming the folds and forms of the shapes and lines. From impoverished beginnings there appears a sparse, concise and coherent visual language.
