I’ll be showing work in Phony Art Collective’s Open Call exhibition at Gallery Lock In, Brighton. Here’s the press release from the curators:
OPEN CALL:
phony. is excited to present ‘Open Call’, our first exhibition of the year, opening next week at Gallery Lock In. ‘Open Call’ presents over One Hundred and Ninety Artists and offers a contemporary platform for all; free from concerns of submission rejection, or the need to adhere to rigid requirements. Inspired by O’Flaherty’s NYC, ‘Open Call’ stands by its name in every sense. Legs open, calling for you. This exhibition is the outcast sister to the constricting family we in the art world find ourselves adopted by.
We stand on the corner at the crossroads waiting for you.
‘Open Call’ Promises to let you have your own experience, feel included, and know that everyone is on an equal footing. The idea that you must theorise philosophically, or speak correctly to blend in with the art world is gone. We are all in the same sinking boat. So join us whilst we stay afloat.
Curated by: Brandy Flakes and Richard Matthews
