9 separate works, each in an edition of 40 Giclee prints from original handmade analogue collages from my Car Wreck series, 2012-2017.
The Wreck series of micro-collages explore painterly possibilities through ephemeral materials, transitory objects and the relation between image and process, making and unmaking.
The works depict various abandoned car wrecks – objects in decay, in a process of transformation, no longer of use but still maintaining vestiges of their original form. Entropy in action.
These objects-in-their-unmaking are remade using images and textures from newspaper photos – fleeting pictures form the everyday, cut up and re-assembled anew, becoming a collection of imagery as well as a single image.
The experience of looking remains in constant flux.
